My Raw Vegan Experience

My sister, a dedicated vegetarian, took me to eat my first full raw vegan meal at 118 degrees in Costa Mesa, CA.  On Sundays they have a 4 course meal option.  My sister got the meal so that we could try a variety of dishes.  

First Course: Banana with raw chocolate and wheat groats 

Second Course: Kale Salad & Spicy Tomatillo Soup 

Third Course: Veggie Wrap 

Dessert Course: Raspberry Cheesecake & Dulce de Leche 

I got the raw burrito. It is a tomato coconut wrap stuffed with mushrooms, spinach, corn, bell pepper, avocado, roja salsa and spicy cheese. It’s topped with sour cream and cilantro sauce.  

So, the verdict?  My favorite course was the salad and soup.  They were the most tasty.  The raspberry cheesecake (made with cashews, not cream cheese) was also delicious.

 Raw food taste good when I eat it in small portions. But it made my stomach feel weird in these larger portions.   I thought that I ate healthy but I have nothing on raw vegans.  To all of your out there who eat a strictly raw diet, hats off to you!  I know raw vegetables are much more nutritious, but I’m not going to lie…I prefer mine cooked in most cases.
