Green Strawberry Lemonade

Today my kale loving friend came over and asked for a green smoothie. I told her that I didn’t have any kale but had plenty of spinach.

I made us a wonderful beverage that tasted like fresh strawberry lemonade (when I added sweetener, of course). It’s got to be the best tasting green drink thus far. So refreshing!

Hippie Factor: 2
Ingredients
2 cups fresh spinach
1 fuji apple
1/8 whole lemon (with peel) + the juice of 1/2 lemon**
8 strawberries (fresh or frozen)
honey/sugar/splenda/agave nectar to taste
1.5 cups water
1 cup ice (optional)

**I use lemons from my backyard.  They are quite large.  If you are using small lemons, you may need to use 1/2 of a whole lemon and the juice of another lemon.

Start the vita-mix/blender on variable. Slowly turn the dial up to 10 and then flip it to high for 30 seconds.

The perfect summer treat. Palatable for ANYONE. I debated whether to make the hippie factor 1 or 2 because you cannot taste the greens at all. I made it a 2 simply because the color doesn’t match your average strawberry lemonade.

Enjoy!
